Winter Solstice is the time of year when we welcome the return of the Light, as the days slowly begin to get longer, and nature once again readies itself for new growth.
On this shortest day of the year we can also prepare ourselves for new growth and transformation by accepting ourselves as we are, and letting go of the old, of that which does not serve us anymore. This prepares us for new growth and renewal, and allows the Sattvic qualities of lightness, brightness and clarity to develop within.
This workshop will use Asana to release held tension that has accumulated in the body. Tension in the body is often caused by tension in our minds. We will use props, such as chairs, blocks, pillows and blankets to release in a gentle manner, to allow the body to create space, thereby freeing up the mind and enabling us to let go of negative and unuseful habits of thinking. We will use Pranayama or breathing techniques to further bring about and refine this steadiness of mind, and complete with meditative techniques that can help us to continue to grow in a positive manner.
There is a maximum of 15 spaces for this event.
Participants will be required to bring a yoga mat and blanket.
