The word ‘Holistic’ comes from the Greek word ‘holos’ meaning ‘whole’. Holistic Massage assesses and treats the ‘whole’ person, meaning, not just the physical aspect, but our emotional and mental aspects also. Unhealthy environmental working conditions, poor posture and bad nutritional habits all manifest within the body adding to needless amounts of stress. The body absorbs the stress creating a negative impact on our health and resulting in aching muscles, back pain, fatigue and digestive problems to name but a few.
Massage is the best way to relax both physically and mentally, bringing the body back into homeostasis i.e. the body’s own natural state of balance and harmony.
The Holistic approach aims to use relaxation, stimulation and invigoration of the muscles through the use of soothing massage, bringing our body, mind and emotions back into balance. Along with lifestyle and aftercare advice the Holistic approach to massage is a great way to help keep you in control of your own health.
