Yoga for Relief of Stress


This workshop will explore the physiological nature of stress, how our bodies react to it, and what we can do about it.  We will use Asana to free up tension in the body, exploring where stress affects us physically.  We will then use Pranayama to encourage the nervous system to relax, and meditation to notice our thoughts, allowing us to move from tension to relaxation.  A long period of deep relaxation allows the body to completely let go of deeply held tension, leaving us feeling refreshed and renewed.

  • Do not to eat for a couple of hours before coming to class.  If you need to eat, then a small snack such as fruit is fine.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that you can move around freely in.
  • Bring a yoga mat if you have one.
  • Please let me know beforehand of any injuries or physical conditions you may have.
