This training primarily focuses on Hatha Yoga, with informed influences from:

The approach is inclusive, non-dogmatic, and grounded in safe, accessible movement and breath awareness, rooted in traditional philosophy while relevant to modern practice.

This course will give you a good grounding in the basics of what a yoga teacher will need for their journey into teaching, and deeper self reflection.

Our 200hr Yoga teacher training course is accredited with Yoga Teachers Together. 

Yoga Teachers Together is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that supports yoga teachers, trainers, and students through professional registration, advocacy, community events, and inclusive teacher development across diverse yoga traditions.

Our 200hr YTT course in Sheffield starts in late September 2026 and finishes at the end of November 2027. The course will include:

  • 8 weekends in person at Sheffield Yoga School in Walkley, Sheffield
  • 1 residential weekend at Unstone Grange in Derbyshire
  • 30 hours online, spread throughout the course.

Cost

  • £2200 – Pay before 1st August 2026
  • £2350 – Pay by the beginning of the course
  • £2500 – Pay by installments before and during the course.

You do not need to be an advanced practitioner to join this training. What matters more is a genuine commitment to yoga and a desire to learn. If you have a regular personal practice and a passion for sharing yoga with others, you are likely to be well suited to this course. Yes. The Sun Moon Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training is a professionally accredited course. On successful completion you will receive a qualification that is recognised within the yoga teaching profession. Full details of the accreditation are available in the course prospectus.

The majority of the course takes place at Sheffield Yoga School in Walkley, Sheffield. There is also one residential weekend at Unstone Grange in Derbyshire, a beautiful rural setting that provides a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in your practice. Thirty hours of the course are delivered online, spread throughout the training.

The Autumn 2026 course runs from 26th September 2026 to the end of November 2027, delivered across 8 weekends in Sheffield, one residential weekend in Derbyshire, and 30 hours online. This format is designed to be manageable alongside work and family commitments.

Yes. We offer three payment options to make the course as accessible as possible:

  • £2,200 if paid in full before 1st August 2026
  • £2,350 if paid in full before 1st September 2026
  • £2,500 paid in instalments before and during the course

We have a maximum of 16 spaces on the course. We recommend applying early to avoid disappointment.

Rather than focusing on a single style or lineage, Sun Moon Yoga draws from a wide range of teachings and traditions. This gives you a broader, more flexible foundation as a teacher — one that allows you to teach yoga that is safe and inclusive for every body in the room, regardless of their ability or background.

On successful completion of the course you will be a fully qualified 200-hour yoga teacher, equipped to teach yoga safely and professionally. The course also covers how to set up and market your own yoga business, so you will leave with the practical tools to start teaching with confidence.

The training is led by Eric Wilkinson, director of Sun Moon Yoga Sheffield, with over 30 years of personal practice and nearly 20 years of teaching experience. He is joined by Helena Turner, an experienced Sheffield teacher with a background in mental health, meditation and pranayama, and Lesley Dike, a long-term yoga teacher and highly skilled musculoskeletal physiotherapist who leads the anatomy component of the course.

Eric Wilkinson

Eric is the director of Sun Moon Yoga Sheffield and is a full time Yoga and Somatics teacher and Yoga Therapist. He has over 30 years of personal practise, and 20 years teaching experience, and has trained with many world class teachers in the field of Yoga therapy.

Eric is continuously developing his knowledge and personal understanding of Yoga and is committed to teaching in a safe and professional manner with respect for the individual.

Helena Turner

Helena Turner, Yoga teacher in Sheffield.

Helena has been teaching since 2007 and practising many years before. Her teaching reflects a rigorous and comprehensive approach, enriched by continued studies in mental health, meditation, pranayama and mindfulness. Alongside yoga, she practices Thai Massage and creative arts. As well as teaching many classes around Sheffield, Helena works with people living with complex injuries, believing yoga is accessible to all.

Lesley Dike

Les is a long-term Yoga teacher and highly skilled musculoskeletal physiotherapist. For many years she has used her knowledge and experience to help Yoga teachers better understand the way the body moves & functions, and to apply that understanding to their teaching. Les will be teaching the anatomy part of the course.
